My Story

A Natural Performer

Roddy Jackson was born into a musical family and started taking music lessons when he was six years old. He also took music classes in school including band, orchestra and chorus. Roddy became a professional musician at age twelve when he organized, led and did musical arrangements for his own band, “The Dreamers,” who had their own weekly radio show on KYOS Radio in Merced.

When he was fourteen Roddy became one of the original members of the now legendary “Merced Blue Notes” which became the first and number one Rock and Roll band in the Central Valley during the late 50s and continued throughout the 60s. At age fifteen he landed a recording contract with Little Richard’s recording label, Specialty Records

From 1995 to 2005 Roddy entertained throughout the Central Valley, in the Bay Area and on the Coast doing his one-man show, “Roddy Jackson, The Music Man.”

Roddy has continued performing, and was invited to England for music festival performances and features in magazine articles. He also has extensive experience in jazz and classical. Roddy is still open to performing locally, please use the contact page below for more information.
